Gail Stan uses scissors and paper to bring her ideas to life as fine art.  Knowledge of the humble process, bringing blade to sheet, makes her work all the more astounding.  As a member of the Guild of American Papercutters, Gail’s art has been showcased in traveling exhibits and has been selected for display in the Westmoreland Museum of American Art.

While she holds a graduate degree in Russian Literature, Gail is a self-taught paper-cutter.  She took up the art in 2003, when she became home-bound as the caregiver for her husband, stricken with Alzheimer’s disease.  Creating her artwork is a source of energy renewal and therapy.

Gail produces commissioned art, in addition to selling her own, original pieces.  Her work hangs on walls from California to New Jersey and from Florida to Canada.
